Keeping your Carpet clean

Cleaning carpets can feel overwhelming and often put off home owners from choosing to have carpets. We have put together our best tips and tricks to help you keep your carpets fresh for many years.
DRY VACUUM
At least once a week, especially in high traffic areas. Pay particular attention to the areas around doorways and skirtings which are often the first place for insects and moths to reside. Every 3-4 months vacuum under infrequently moved furniture. If your carpet is made from wool in a cut or twist style then a turbo or power brush featuring adjustable height setting is recommended.
ATTEND TO SPILLS AND STAINS
Always clean as soon as possible. Spills should be blotted up by dabbing, DO NOT vigorously rub as this will spread the stain, and scrape up any solids. In the event of a very large stain, put a towel down and stand on it firmly to remove as much liquid as you can before applying any stain treatment. It is best to work from the outside of the stain towards the middle as this will avoid further spreading.
And a word of advice – NEVER rub wet wool carpet as it can cause permanent damage to the pile.
PROFESSIONAL STEAM CLEAN.
It is worth getting your carpet professionally steam cleaned around once a year, or as often as required. This will remove entrapped soil particles and revive the appearance of your carpet.
